Thesis Focus

This thesis examines how design can influence children's experiences in medical settings, particularly focusing on the end phase where fear and anxiety often lead to non-compliance. It questions how we can redesign these experiences to alleviate fear and improve adherence to treatments.

There is significant potential in transforming fearful endings into positive experiences. By integrating child-friendly design elements that reduce fear, we can turn medical visits from traumatic to empowering events for children. As healthcare evolves, maintaining a focus on reducing medical fear through design is crucial for fostering effective and compassionate care.
